George Schaaf of The George & June Schaaf Tractor & Truck Museum is a believer in the dreamt-up creations of Ford and his company, and he has gone to great lengths to secure an array of collectible components from the manufacturer’s history, including some of the finest and most interesting examples created. One of the most imaginative dreamers of that era was the iconic Henry Ford-a man who took the opportunity to expand his own dream into a reality that matured into technological wonders that could be attained by all. Dreams were at the core of what made these brilliant inventions turn from simple ideas into worldwide, life-changing phenomena. Before the automobile was mass-produced and became vital to the likes of business advancement and people-transport, one was fortunate to merely catch a glimpse of an engine-powered box with four wheels cruising past on unpaved roads to a young child, seeing a self-powered vehicle for the first time was akin to witnessing the Wright brothers launch a winged frame into the sky or watching in awe as the first steam-powered locomotive chugged through a slow-developing shantytown. In the days before progressive automotive innovation and wide-ranging transportation options, those who had the means to afford a vehicle were stuck with very few variations to choose from.
